Round 5 Wrap.
.
Phillips Island have been the benchmark in recent times and so it proved with the results last Sunday heavily in favour of the Islanders. Our seniors held on for a terrific win despite a long injury list, coming home 3-1 victors. The ledger was then better than squared with the following results; 1-5 Reserves, 0-18 Womens, 2-5 Girls, 1-7 U12s and 3-9 U14s. Nuff said, let’s move on!
.
Great day out though, see Monique and Jo’s pics on Facebook for a look at our big day out!
Great thing about soccer though is we have next week to reverse our fortunes and so we welcome Lang Lang to Thompson Reserve next Sunday. Weather is a pleasant, partly cloudy day so see you all there.

Thank You, Mark Donohue
.
The Stars Committee would like all players and supporters to acknowledge the efforts of our retiring Club President, Mark Donohue. Mark is a past player and long serving committee member who has served as our President for the past two years, ostensibly to see the Light Up the Stars projects through to its completion. As we, now we have lights at Thompson Reserve Mark has retired as President. We wish Mark all the best and thank him for his years of service to the club.
.
.
Mark’s departure does provide an opportunity for others to step up to the committee. We do need interested individuals to help inject some fresh blood into the committee. Please see Andrew Kempster or Vaughan Gleeson if you would like to attend a club committee meeting, these are generally held on the second Tuesday of each month.
.
.
.
World Cup AUS v FRA – Club Function
.
Saturday 16 Jun – Australia vs France – Save the Date. The Inverloch Stars SC will celebrate the Socceroo’s first match in the 2018 World Cup with a Club Function at the Anderson Inlet Angling Club. Pencil it in your diaries as the Stars cheers on Bert’s boys. Wear your ‘Red and Yellow’ or your ‘Green and Gold’.

Lighting up Thompson Reserve
.
Some of you might have noticed we now have three light towers functioning at Thompson Reserve. This is a boon for the club; Thompson Reserve finally becomes the focus of all of the club’s training and match days.
.
Once the final tower (currently under construction) is complete we will be conducting a ceremony to acknowledge the efforts of all of our partners, supporters, sponsors and all of those who have helped out at garage sales, rattled tins or worked closely with the Shire and the Cricket Club for us to finally see the light! Well done, such a big effort! Watch this space for the official ceremony.
.
