Round 5 Wrap.
.
Tough and gripping matches for the most part in an evenly matched duel against Lang Lang last Sunday. All games were hard fought and tense. The Senior Men’s survived a 2-1 result, although the win may have been a little more comfortable if some first half chances were taken. The Reserves similarly survived a challenge from the bigger Lang Lang side coming away 2-0 victors. The women were forced into a practice match owing to lack of numbers from Lang Lang. In the U12s Invy came away with a 4-2 victory despite a challenge from their opponents who mounted a late second half surge.
.
This week it is the one of our longer road trips up to Drouin home of the Dragons! Leave plenty of time to get up there sometimes the trip over the hills can be a little foggy. The town is supposedly named after a Frenchman who invented a chlorination process for the extraction of ore or an Aboriginal word meaning “north wind”. Drouin does not have a Senior men’s teams so there is a 2pm kickoff for the Reserves Match – this is scheduled this way secure a referee for both the Women’s and Reserves matches. The U6 Mini Roos also do not have a match this weekend.

Lighting up Thompson Reserve
.
Some of you might have noticed we now have three light towers functioning at Thompson Reserve. This is a boon for the club; Thompson Reserve finally becomes the focus of all of the club’s training and match days.
.
Once the final tower (currently under construction) is complete we will be conducting a ceremony to acknowledge the efforts of all of our partners, supporters, sponsors and all of those who have helped out at garage sales, rattled tins or worked closely with the Shire and the Cricket Club for us to finally see the light! Well done, such a big effort! Watch this space for the official ceremony.
