Round 7 Wrap.
.
Our senior teams had a solid weekend with two wins up at Drouin. The Women through 1-0 on the day, Emily Smith on the scoresheet. Our Reserves prevailed 5-3 with goals to Mark Farmer, Finn Gleeson and Kai Neville.
.
A tougher assignment for the U12s and U14s. Our U14s fought out a great game, a physically bigger Drouin was able to come away with a win 3-8. The young Invy tyros were not disgraced showing great skill and teamwork. In the U12s a fresh Drouin side proved too great a challenge despite a good second half comeback, 2-8 the final result. The U16 girls fought our a 0-0 draw.

This week we see a break from the club schedule so there are NO SCHEDULED MATCHES THIS WEEKEND – training is still in full swing though so get out there and sharpen those skills.

Finally, we wish of our GSL reps at the Country Championships up at Shepparton all the best for this weekend. The competition will be tough but we are sure you will all give a great account of yourselves.

10 June – The Queen’s Birthday Weekend is a BYE for all clubs in the GSL. GSL reps in the Country Championships in Shepparton.

17 June – Round 8 – With the introduction of a second Phillip Island U12s side at and Warragul Seniors and Women’s sides to the competition will see these Stars teams play matches on 17 June 2018 when the rest of the teams have a BYE.

• The U12s will play Phillip Island B at Newhaven Recreation Reserve 10.30am
.
• Women will play Warragul at Baxter Park 12pm
• Senior Men will play Warragul at Baxter Park 3pm

All teams are training this Wednesday – Regular-training times. Get along!

* Mini Roos U6-U8 training will commence at 4.15pm.

* Under 10s start at 4.45pm Thompson Reserve

* Under 12s skills training from 4.15 & Under 14s from 5pm at Thompson Reserve Under Lights

* Seniors from 6.30pm Wednesday only at Thompson Reserve *Under Lights

JUNIOR PLAYER PICK UP – With it getting darker, a tight carpark and construction of our fourth tower occurring there is a lot going on in the Thompson Reserve car park as training finishes. In the interests of safety, parents are asked to collect their child from the ground and escort them back to their cars. *

Australia vs France – Save the Date. The Inverloch Stars SC will celebrate the Socceroo’s first match in the 2018 World Cup with a Club Function at the Anderson Inlet Angling Club. Pencil it in your diaries as the Stars cheers on Bert’s boys. Wear your ‘Red and Yellow’ or your ‘Green and Gold’.

Committee News
.
We are seeking new blood on the Soccer Club Committee. Our president has recently retired and at the end of the season, our secretary of the last three years steps down. To keep the club running we need parents and players to support the club, getting involved at team and club level. As a member of the committee, you can have input into the running of the club and its direction.
.
Our next committee meeting is on Tuesday 26 June 2018, 7pm, Inlet Hotel.

Sunday Morning Set Up – Home Games

The next home game for us in Round 9 vs Wonthaggi so we will need some helpers to set up the goals and nets. Can helpers please be on hand by 8.15am. See Al Starkey.
